HOW WE HELP

WBDA encourages the safe and responsible use of alcohol, both locally and through our national associations and partners. We support numerous programs and community activities that discourage underage drinking and promote responsible behavior.

Resources of note:

  • Retailers are constantly training new employees and refreshing veteran ones on how to spot fake I.D.s and prevent underage drinking. The National Beer Wholesalers Association offers a quick check guide to spotting a fake I.D.

  • Party planning often involves much thought and attention to detail. Serving alcohol beverages at your party requires extra effort to ensure they are consumed moderately and responsibly by your guests. The National Beer Wholesalers Association provides a convenient guide for responsible party planning.

  • Parents and community leaders can utilize resources provided by the U.S. Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The Web site www.stopalcoholabuse.gov includes resources that can assist in educating young people about the dangers of underage drinking and the importance of making healthy choices.
